Background

Family

FatherCorvin Tanglebram — fisherman, owner of the Stellar Sturgeon
MotherMaesel Tanglebram — practical, quietly supportive
Sibling 1Pip (Pipplewhistle) Tanglebram — age ~11, hero-worships Fitz
Sibling 2Nessa Tanglebram — age ~8, disturbingly perceptive

Personality Storyteller at heart. Collects tales from traveling bards. Performs for neighborhood kids. Eternally curious — asks questions to hear more, then recites the answers back to check he got them right. A blend of Tasslehoff Burrfoot (irrepressible curiosity, light fingers), Mickey Mouse (boundless enthusiasm, chaotic energy), Bilbo Baggins (unexpected depth, love of home mixed with hunger for adventure), and Scanlon Shortholt from Critical Role (charming performer, quick wit, always spinning a situation to his advantage).

Goal Get out of Sandpoint and see the world. Magnimar. Riddleport. Anywhere with stories worth telling.

Fear Spending his whole life on the Stellar Sturgeon.

Deity Desna — Goddess of Dreams, Stars, Travelers, and Luck (CG). Domains: Chaos, Good, Liberation, Luck, Travel. Fitz lights a candle to her most nights, asking quietly when it will finally be his turn to go somewhere.

Piercing Crescendo — Full Ruling Text

(Robert Wilhelm ruling, incorporating original Songfilch text)

At 1st level, a songfilch can use his bardic performance to unleash a powerful keening note which transforms into a razor-sharp crystalline shard. The shard deals piercing damage equal to 1d4 plus sonic damage equal to ½ the songfilch’s level (minimum 0) to a single target within 30 feet. This crystalline shard ignores hardness and damage reduction. The note is inaudible to all but the target. Activating piercing crescendo requires a standard action and a ranged touch attack that does not provoke attacks of opportunity.

The target must then succeed on a Fortitude or Will save (DC 10 + ½ the songfilch’s level + Charisma modifier; DC 15 at 1st level) or be dazed for 1 round. This is a supernatural ability and is not subject to spell resistance.

Sneak Attack: Applies free whenever Fitz already qualifies (flat-footed target, invisible, after a successful Diversion). Costs +1 bardic performance round to apply when Fitz would not normally qualify — no check or save required.

Range increases to 40 ft. at 8th level, 50 ft. at 15th level. Note that the standard 30 ft. maximum range for ranged sneak attacks means the extended range won’t interact with sneak attack for several levels.

Piercing crescendo relies on audible components. This ability replaces countersong.
